July 2021 Mission of the Month – Howard and Marilynn Plucar

Hi Everyone,

Today is the summer solstice and, after the first three weeks of June feeling more like the last half of July, today feels more like the autumnal equinox!  We in the upper Midwest talk a lot about the weather because it is so entertaining; never knowing quite what to expect in any given day and season.  As we get close to the month of July, we anticipate our retirement from the ReachGlobal Member Care Team as of 30 June; entering into our final “home assignment” which will begin with a period of time (about 3 months or so) of taking time breathe deeply, decompress, sabbath, and ask God what he wants us to do in the next season of life, whatever that may look like and however long that may be.  Thank you so much for standing with us in prayer all these years and for continuing to pray as we enter into a new season of life.  With this transition in mind, here are 4 praises and prayer requests for the upcoming month of July.

Grace & Peace,

Howard & Marilynn

Howard & Marilynn Plucar                           July 2021

1.  Praise God with us for his constant care and faithfulness over these 37 years with ReachGlobal and 49 years of EFCA ministry; for the many brothers and sisters around the world that we have been privileged to call “friends” and “colleagues”, and for so many who have faithfully and generously stood with us in prayer and financial support.

2.  Ask God to identify and install his choice of the person to lead the ReachGlobal Member Care Team.

3.  Please pray that as we take a sabbatical (Part of our philosophy of “home assignment” in ReachGlobal is to spend time in “renewal” in order to be refreshed for future ministry.) over the summer and into the early autumn,  we will clearly hear the Lord’s voice speaking:  “This is the way; walk in it”.

Ask the Father to enable us to visit as many churches and individuals as possible during late 2021 and into 2022 so that we may say our personal, heartfelt “thank you” for the kind and gracious support of so many over the years.
