In our instant gratification world, here’s a great reminder for adults to model for our children and challenge them to put it into practice: Pause, Pray, BEFORE we Act. This could save us from some negative consequences.
Safety: We use matching wristbands for the safety of our Lil’ Sprouts and Sprouts. Only the adult with the matching wristband can pick up their child. For the safety of our K-5 Evergreens, who do not have wristbands, they will only be released to their parent (or the adult they came with) after service. This is the same safety measure we use for AWANA. If you have questions, please let me know.
Here’s what’s happing this month in Growing God’s Way Ministry:
Lil’ Sprouts: 6 weeks-2+ yrs. Each month the Lil’ Sprouts will explore one of God’s wonderful creations with hands on learning using the items in the Surprise Bag. February, Thank you God for Snow. Hands on learning…Bring a container filled with snow into the room, there will be mittens for the little ones to wear.
Sprouts: This month; Moses. Verse: Psalm 124:8 My help comes from the LORD.
Evergreens (K-5): We are using The Gospel Project, Return to the Land. We will be in the book of Obadiah and Ezra. Something new, we have a “Pray For” poster in the room, kids are encouraged to write prayer requests on it or ask a leader to write it for them.
K-5 9:00 a.m. Sunday School: The life of Jesus.
Youth 9:00 a.m. Sunday School: The Gospel Project, The Prophets and Kings.
Youth 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday Night: Fellowship, games, worship, and lesson. (Maturating in our faith)
We had an amazing time at the Districts conference this year! While we were there the youth and leaders decided to sponsor a classroom in Haiti through an organization called Upstream. For 25.00 a month (less than 2.00 per month for each youth) we can help a classroom in Haiti with meals, books, supplies, and basic medical care. We are all very excited to share the love of Christ with this sponsorship. Watch for more information…soon we will have some visuals with information in the Youth Room.
